Private tennis coaching is also on offer in Arlington Village. Local LTA Registered coach, Fiona Bottomley, is available for lessons Mondays to Saturdays. Her programme offers something for everyone: mini tennis (red, orange and green) for children aged five to ten, and group and individual coaching for junior, adult and wheelchair players.
A small group of local ladies – the ‘Arlington Aces’ – meets for ‘improvers’ group coaching every Saturday morning when weather permits – it is informal and great fun.
Fiona the Author
In addition to her coaching skills, Fiona (as Fiona Cane) has written four novels since moving to Arlington from London 20 years ago. The village provided both the inspiration and the setting for her second novel, a psychological thriller, When the Dove Cried, while her third, The Gate, was set in and around Eastbourne. Her fourth novel, The Other Side of the Mountain, was released to critical acclaim in August 2015 and can be purchased online at Amazon, Waterstones or direct from the author.
