Arlington lies at the centre of and in the heart of the local farming community. For hundreds of years farming families have earned their living working surrounding farmland and today, although the number of farmers has decreased, the surrounding land is none the less mostly agricultural. Fields around the village will regularly support sheep and cattle alongside arable crops, managed woodland and lifestyle plots.
Farming has always been important to the community and todays farmers, whilst more mechanised and intense than our forefathers, still hold true to traditional values as custodians of the land for future generations.
Working Farms in Arlington include: Primrose Farm, Wilbees Farm, Bates Green Farm, Endlewick Farm and Chilver Bridge Farm
